Hello!  My name is LaToya.  I am a married mother of 3.  I have been married to my husband Alton for 13 years. We have 2 beautiful daughters and wonderful son, Alauni who is 18, Jamari, who is 16 and Sanai, who is 13.  

 

I have been passionate about pregnancy and childbirth for as long as I can remember - volunteering, studying and sharing my knowledge with expected parents, friends and family.  I believe this is truly a God given calling.  Empowering encouraging, supporting and informing women and their partners comes so naturally to me. The actual certifications and continued education programs became a "hobby". I really can't call it work because it's such a pleasure an enjoyment.

 

In 2009 my best friend suggested that I look into becoming a Lamaze Childbirth Educator and doula. After researching what was required to become a DONA Certified Doula and a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, I became even more impassioned. Educating, empowering, and enlightening women about their choices are the cornerstones of what Doula View is all about. It's all about women finding their voices and taking back their births.

 

I have been a doula for ten years now, having completed the certifications through Lamaze International (LCCE), The Birth Impact and DONA International (Training).  I've also had training in lactation counseling.

 

I have attended over 150+ births and have the requisite experience to be able to offer guidance through this joyous time.
